Smart Cookie Trivia ("the Game", "we") is a real-time multiplayer trivia game. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's handled.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your basic account identity (email address and name) from that provider. We use it only to create and identify your player account. We never see your password.
- Guest accounts. If you play as a guest, an anonymous account is created with no personal information attached.
- Profile and gameplay data. Your chosen username, avatar, match history, scores, rating, streaks, and badges are stored so the game can function (leaderboards, matchmaking, stats).
- Answers you submit. Typed answers are processed to grade them, which may include automated evaluation by an AI service. Answers are not linked to advertising or profiling.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising.
- We do not use your data for profiling or marketing.
Service providers
The Game runs on the following infrastructure providers, which process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication and database (accounts, ratings, leaderboards).
- Railway — hosts the real-time game server.
- Vercel — hosts the web client.
- Google Gemini — automated grading of typed answers and moderation of chosen usernames.
Data retention and deletion
Your account data is kept while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (profile, rating, badges, and match history) at any time from within the Game: open Profile → Danger Zone → Delete account. You can also request deletion by contacting us (below). Anonymous guest accounts that are inactive may be deleted periodically.
Children
The Game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the Game evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
